We are back on a new server and we have opened up the forums : http://www.bestforumz.com/forum

We are monitoring the load on new server and we sincerely hope it stands good and gives us an option to regroup back again.

Server Migration Complete

we have completed successful server migration.
We will open up to the public pretty soon.

The only issue noted so far is the problem sending mails to rediff users. We are trying to fix this but this is going to take more than a couple of days as it needs manual work from more than a couple of organizations.

Migration underway

We have moved files to our new server. There have been few errors found up on migration.
We will be fixing them asap and try to get the server online for every one. One of the major error noted was with the Mail Delivery System which was throwing errors.

We hope to resolve the issues asap and get live action going.

We have initiated the server migration process. We expect it to be complete with in the next 2 - 24 hours.

We are hoping no major issues result during the transition.

This move is to ensure the fix for the loads and errors which we were facing on BF for the past 3 - 4 days.

Undergoing major changes

currently we are under going major changes, which include server migration. After the last crash, the new host have proven un-reliable with high loads and errors. They were unable to address our issues despite several attempts which lead to our announcement via forums that things should be working fine now, but that's not the case so far..

We are moving into a new host. The transition process is under way.
We apologize for the slow loads, errors and load messages.

ever since we made few changes to make the forum load faster , there have been some errors popping up.

Currently, we are working closely with the support technicians to fix this up & get back to forums

we are pleased to announce BF is back online and there has been no data loss noted, a successful recovery has been made from the crashed HDD.

Backing up started

We have started backing up off the drives at our Data Center. Once the entire data is backed up, we will restore it on our new server.

We will be moving into a new host, as the current host is no more a reliable solution.

Delay expected

We are still waiting for a proper response from the host. As there was more than a few dozen servers crashed due to some malfunctioning, the response from our host hasn't been appreciable.

We will be giving time for the host to provide our back up with in a couple of days else we will restore the database as of almost 10 days older one.

Once, we would apologize to all our well wishers and BF friends. As, soon as BF opens up we will mail all the users.

As u all noted, BF is currently down.
There has been a server crash, we are in process of recovering data from the backups.

BF is back online now. Rather it went online on Sunday night.

Just forgot to mention it over here, as we expected members to be visiting BF directly.

Troubleshooting errors

After moving the files, we seem to be going through some technical errors, we are trying to fix that up currently.

We will update soon.

*There will be no data loss. We have backups on multiple servers as well - which we could resort to if a necessity arises.

BF will be back in apporx 24hrs

BF will be back in approximately 24 hours - 48hours at the most.
This is the time frame because the dns changes have to propagate.

We are making a change in location of server and we will back with more info soon.

BF will be back with some changes around for more easier browsing to all the members.

Cricket Contest winners declaration after BF is up

As u all know World Cup Cricket Contest was a grand success, we will announce the winner officially and the winner will be rewarded as promised.

We will do this after BF is up and running.

Winners will be requested to post proof of their rewards after we issue it to them.

Forums Upgraded

Forums have been upgraded to the latest 3.8 release.

Forums are being upgraded

Forums upgrade work has began at last ;)

We are expecting to be back with in an hour i.e 10 PM - GMT +5.5hrs

Forums Upgrade process will begin shortly

Database has been backed up and even the important files/folders.

We will start forum upgrade process shortly, it would include:

1. Uploading the new files.
2. Editing templates to meet the new upgraded template requirements.
3. Checking out for possible errors.

The above process should take no more than 1 hour.

Backup Underway

Currently, we are backing up server files and databases. Once, this is completed we will go ahead with the uploading of the upgrade necessary files.

BF is offline now

As we are planning to upgrade the forums - we have taken the board offline so that no data loss occurs if a necessity for restoring the content is required.

Forum open for Admins and co-Admins

Forums are now open to Administrators and co-Administrators to log on and check settings around.

There are still a few pending issues to be dealt with, this is causing a delay in the public opening up of the forums.

We are planning to open the forums on Saturday or Sunday at the most.
We will be sending mail to users after forums are open to all users.

Date bug fixed

The bug which we encountered with the dates has been fixed successfully.

We are currently making a final test in the interface to check if still there any bugs that are to be found.

Few bugs noted

We have noted few bugs after the server migration, we are in the process of trying to fix them.
These bugs are very minor related to date-settings.

Optimization under way

We are currently optimizing the scripts for the best performance.
What this does is : It will increase forum loading speed and decrease the loads.
Which would help every one in a great fashion.

We are planning to go online on or before Friday with all the optimizations been done & double checked along with the other tasks.

We might be sending Testing Mails to few accounts, so kindly excuse us - as we are testing Mail Delivery System.

We are still working on with certain processes.

We want to fix up all the issues, before we open the forums for everyone. We don't want to close the forums now and again to fix issues.

PixTreat has been restored

As most of you are aware of the downtime of PixTreat since 22nd January 2011, its no longer a wait.

We were able to restore the data on a new server after the server crash mess we had with earlier host.

We have lost 4 days data ranging from 18th January 2011 to 22nd January 2011.

We are making daily backups now to prevent further data loss :)

Database fixed

We have fixed the database.

Now, forums offline message could be noted, that's an indication of our fix.

DNS is up

DNS is up and ready.

You might have noted forums giving database error if you tried to access any page of the forums. That's a confirmation of our server migration :p

DNS has been set up. We have completed moving files in the meanwhile.

Once, DNS is up and ready - we will cross check with the settings and once we confirm everything is working good, we will open up the forums.

BestForumz is Migrating Servers

Dear friends,

As we are migrating servers at the moment, we had decided to take down the forums to prevent data loss.

We have added higher RAM, Space and bandwidth in our new server to accommodate our larger needs.

We expect to be back with in a few days time.

We do apologize for the downtime, but this is mandatory as we are intending to fix all the issues and have ourselves ready for the best in future.

Once again thanks for the wait, we certainly hope this is one of the last server migrations we might have to consider in the near future :)
